Well Hello there!
I’ve been away from blogging community just because I am drowning with loads of work to do in our university. It is almost the end of our semester and I still have few exams to finish and I am free(!), well at least for a few days haha.
Anyways I have managed to sneak in a few reads despite my busy schedule so here is the book review for those books.
Instagram has been a great platform for book lovers like me because it gives me more opportunity to know international books. I remember seeing these two being so hyped in the bookstagram community and I’ll admit that is the main reason why I decided to read them.
Tho I do not have a firm stand over lgbt community, I am still open for reading diverse books and I thought that it is a great idea to try them out. So, I first read Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda and one word to describe it, is cute. I liked the story and the characters are just so cute. (I know I’ll probably say “cute” a lot.) I love the little suspense and I almost thought that Blue was someone else. This book is a perfect summer read where you just kinda immerse yourself in high school teenage romance. A very light read and yet will still give you butterfly in your stomach.
“Did you just tell us you’re gay?” Asks Nick
“Okay,” he says. Abby swats him. “What?”
“That’s all you’re going to say? Okay?”
“He said not to make a big deal out of it,” Nick says. “What am I supposed to say?”
So as I was reading Simon, I became more curious about Leah and I was so excited to read Leah on the offbeat. Tho Leah is an awesome character, being a drummer and all, I didn’t quite like her story. I just don’t like who she’s paired up with. Her whole relationship for me is a mess. I don’t like it at all. I can’t see how their actions are justified. I just find it wrong. Totally disappointed with this one.
I could give it two stars but I did enjoy the first part of the story.
